The Kenwood TM-281A and 481A tranceivers are reliable compact and simple to use radios that can be set up in a number of ways ranging from a basic single channel radio, through to multiple memories and groups of users. VHF and UHF versions are available and they can work radio to radio, or through a repeater for larger coverage areas. The front facing speaker has bags of loud, clear audio, so handy for installation in vans as well as quieter cars. They also make good radios to use at home or in the office, connected to a 13.8V standard power supply.
