We discovered one of our suppliers had a 66-88MHz version of the UHF portable we use on our hire channels, and were intrigued - was it really a low band portable radio? It turns out that yes it is - they were quite surprised we thought this useful as they were not aware of the 70MHz ham band in the UK, so we've some coming as these are rare, if not unique nowadays. Low band has amateur traffic, but still also in use for UK rallies, and of course the odd taxi firm still plodding on with the gear they've had for years!
